Attention Pottsgrove Families,
The Pottsgrove Athletic Department is excited to be adding a new program at the high school level for the Fall Season. The Unified Strength and Conditioning program is a Special Olympics Pennsylvania Interscholastic Unified Sport. This program is designed to bring students with and without disabilities together to train and compete.
Here are some important things to know about this new program:
- Minimum of 6 participants and maximum of 16
- 8-10 week long season beginning in September
- Teams required to practice twice a week after school
- Each team member selects 2 events to train and compete in
- The team is co-ed and consists of a proportional number of students with and without intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Team points received based on outcomes of pairs in their events
What events are there?
- Bench press
- Jump rope
- Dead lift
- Broad jump
- Shuttle run
- Indoor cycling
- Race walk relay
